Dr. Gerald R. Uhlich is Partner at FIRST SIGHT S.a.r.l. and Founding Partner of INSTAF - Institute for Strategic Affairs.

As President of the Marie-Luise-Below Foundation (Protection of Animals conservation of nature), he is aware about the importance of global warming. This led him develope the Initiative Respect Habitats - Preserve Nature.

He obtained his Masters degree in Economics from the University of Bielefeld (Germany) specializing in Macroeconomic Theory, Computer Sciences and Marketing. Later he became Assistant to Professor Reinhard Selten (University of Bonn), who won the Nobel Prize in Economics in 1994. During that time he obtained his doctoral degree (Dr. rer. pol.) in Economics, specializing in Game Theory (Experimental Economics) and Bargaining Theory.

Since qualifying Dr. Gerald R. Uhlich has occupied a variety of different positions such as: Head of Finance and then CFO in a Textile Company (Weaving, Dyeing and Finishing of Fabrics), CFO of a worldwide leading manufacturer of Blind Riveting Systems, President & CEO of a solution provider in the Technical Textile Business (Transportation, Home Textiles, Advanced Clothing, Industrial Textiles and Medical & Life Care Textiles), being also President of a subsidiary in the US and Managing Director of a subsidiary in the UK, Strategy Consultant for textile companies in Germany, Spain and Turkey, CEO of Berlin Zoo, where he was also responsible for the Marketing and Brand Management of Polar Bear KNUT, CEO of Sozialverband Deutschland a NGO supporting disadvantaged and disabled people.
